The Snowzen team made their way down to Flachau for the Women’s floodlit downhill World Cup event on Thursday evening. Austrian Marlies Schild followed up her victory in her home town of Lienz in late December by winning the floodlit downhill slalom in Flachau to the delight of the locals.

Over the last couple of years, Libtech and GNU decided to develop this design further and make it more rider friendly. First Impressions

OK……so first things first; let me tell you that Austria is a truly underrated ski holiday destination. Sure there are the three main resorts in Austria which pretty much any winter sports enthusiast can probably tell you about: St Anton, Kitzbühel and Mayrhofen. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been to all of these resorts and, from what I can remember of them, they were very nice resorts too. But here is a little insight into another unfamiliar ‘gem’ that Austria offers.

Salomon Acid

2010-salomon-acid-snowboard-rocker-snowzen-reviewA true rocker board that truly is great fun to ride. Buttering is made even easier with an added potential for big ollies, nose and tail presses. Unsurprisingly good in powder, from its rockered shape, however with a smaller sized board it does make it hard work! For steep terrain and high speeds, it may take someone with a little more experience to make it work for them. Awesome board.
